Six Freakin' Months!!!

So, Thursday, Ainsley will be six months old. I cannot believe this.












This month, Ainsley's grandma, Aunts Jill, Jessy, and Jamie came to visit.











Ainsley can now roll from front to back and from back to front. She has yet to figure out that she can get places by rolling around...Sean's thankful for that right now. She's also discovered that her feet are awesome.

Ms. A has also started to expand her diet with baby food. I tried using our food mill, but she doesn't like the texture, so we're staying with store bought for now. She likes squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots. She finds peas and green beans icky, but will eat them if they're mixed with rice cereal.



Ainsley lost a grandma this month. Jeanna lost her battle to ALS on March 13. We were very sad, but grateful that Ainsley got to meet her Grammy at Christmas.






While we were in Texas for Grammy's funeral, Ainsley got to hang out with her cousin Madison. She found Madison to be the coolest thing ever.









We also took a trip to the Fort Worth Stock Yards. Ainsley saw a cattle drive and was able to "ride" on a longhorn. She seemed pretty unimpressed. We did discover, however, that she does not like the sun.





Again, Madison is cool.









Aunt Kat, Madison, Ainsley, and I had a girls' day out to the zoo. It was quite fun.





Ainsley was able to visit with her Great Mimi (Grammy Jeanna's mom) while in Texas as well.

Almost Five Months!!

So, Ainsley has visited the dermatologist. She has a juvenile xenogranuloma...which I've decided is a fancy word for bump. We've got to keep an eye on it; if it doubles in size quickly or if it multiplies, we have to take her back in.

She's rolled over a few times since her initial front to back roll over. I finally saw it last week! We have yet to capture it on video though.

As you can see, it doesn't bother her a bit.

We went to get the communal exersaucer that's been passed around amongst friends. Ainsley LOVES it...as you can see. Between her exersaucer, her jungle mat, her bouncy seat, her swing, and daddy's lap, Ainsley has quite the circuit traning going on!









Yesterday we gave Ainsley her first feeding with a spoon. She's decided that spoons are STUPID!!









She ate about 1/3 of what I tried to feed her; we consider that a victory.

Four Month Doctor's Appointment

I've sent this to many of your phones...but it's so cute, I needed it to be public!

Yesterday, Ainsley had her 4-month doctor appointment.

She now weighs 12 lbs. 13 1/2 oz. She's 24" long (officially), but when the girl used the measuring tape she started from the end of the tape instead of the 0, so I think she's really about 25" long. :D

Dr. Hoffman says that Ainsley's progressing fine. She REALLY wants to roll over. Sean said he's been working with her on it. I told him that if I miss the first roll over while I'm at work, I'll be distraught, so he's got the camcorder out when he does it just in case.

We've been given the ok to start Ainsley on rice cereal. So, after the appointment, Ainsley and I went to Target and picked some up. She's had a few bottles since yesterday, and there doesn't seem to be much change. I had hoped that a rice cereal bottle before bed would stop her 6:30 am wakings--the one that she doesn't really wake up for, but just eats 2 oz. then goes back to sleep. Not so much.

When the doctor checked out Ainsley's bump (the one on her head), she said she wasn't too sure that it's not just a mole that's been irritated because she lays on it. But she wants me to take Ainsley to a dermatologist to be sure.

I also had the doctor look at Ainsley's eye. She has this weird pupil thing that's only noticeable when it's dark and her pupils are really dilated. Her pupil itself isn't perfectly round, and the iris kinds bleeds into the pupil. Dr. Hoffman could only barely see it (because of the light and whatnot), so she suggested I take Ms. A to an optometrist to be sure.

I think she's recognized that I need to hear doctors say everything's ok. But I figure what the heck, it's what I have insurance for, right?

Four Months on Monday!!

Ainsley will be four months on Monday...and it's CRAZY! She's much more alert and active now. She's also getting some attitude. I have no idea where she gets it from. :D

Grandma and Grandpa Parker bought her a play gym and she LOVES it. It's very stimulating for babies. And it helps with her tummytime.


She can stare at it for hours.









I guess it's because the gym is on the floor, but dogs adore when Ainsley's on the floor in her gym. I can't tell if they're just wanting to play/sniff her or if they're jealous of the attention.

Both Boomer and Sadie seem to DESPERATELY need me when Ainsley's playing on the floor. :D







Kate came to visit last week and brought Ainsley a hat. It's adorable!

On the day of the president's inaugaration, Ainsley and I hung out and watched. She really likes her Bumpo chair. I now understand why I got so many. They're AWESOME!

Grandma came to go with Aunt Sarah to the doctor, but there was a big snow day, so she got to hang out with Ms. A all day instead!

This face reminds me of me. I think I make it when my students give me stupid excuses.

Three Months!!

It's hard to believe that Ainsley is already three months old! We had a great time visiting TX for Christmas this year. Ms. A got to meet a bunch more family. Of course, she charmed everyone who was near her. :D

We drove down to visit Aunt Abbey and Uncle J. Uncle J was holding a beer the first time he held Ms. A...and it was adorable. Ms. A's cuteness made Uncle J's ovaries hurt.

Happy Baby and SANTA!!

Ainsley got to meet Santa this weekend. She was pretty unimpressed by him. But it was still cute.

Santa arrived and told stories to the kids, then he got out his big book and figured out who was naughty and nice, then came the photo ops.

She's becoming more and more active. Lately she's been enjoying her bouncy chair. She likes to hit at the horsey thing.

I have video of her playing in her bouncy chair, but I can't seem to get Blogger to upload it. Maybe it's too big--it's 3 minutes. If you'd like to bask in Ms. A's cuteness, let me know, I'll send you it in an email.

These pics show how happy she is when she's hanging with her dad while Momma's at work. I'm told that she has her good days and bad days while I'm gone. But these pictures make it look like they're all good days!

I think this could quite possibly be the cutest picture of Ainsley to date. We'll see...she gets cuter everyday!
